Quick estimate

How many units are dirty panels costing you?

Move the slider to your system size. We assume about 4 units per kW per day, typical for Kerala rooftops, and a 15–25% soiling loss.

1 kW10 kW
Units lost every month

out of roughly 360 units your system can make
That's 648–1,080 units a year — a regular clean usually pays for itself.
Cleaning it yourself?

Most DIY cleaning quietly damages panels.

Many owners clean their own panels or ask a helper to do it — with good intentions. But these common habits cost units, shorten panel life and can void the warranty. Here's what goes wrong:

Household brushes & scrubbersThey trap sand and grit and drag it across the glass. The micro-scratches scatter sunlight and cut output — permanently.
Washing powder, soap & chemicalsThey leave a sticky film that attracts dust faster, can damage the anti-reflective coating and seals, and can put your warranty at risk.
Borewell or hard waterDissolved minerals dry into white spots and a cloudy layer on the glass — the panel looks clean but still loses light.
Cleaning at noon on hot glassCold water on sun-heated panels causes thermal stress, and water evaporates before rinsing, leaving streaks.
Walking or kneeling on panelsYour weight can cause invisible micro-cracks in the cells. They show up later as hot spots and lost generation.
Cleaning once in 6 monthsIn Kerala, dust, salt air and bird droppings build up every week. Waiting months means losing units every single day.
Slippery roofs and live wiringWet panels, tile roofs and DC cables are a real fall and shock risk — especially for someone not trained or harnessed.
No way to know it worked"Looks cleaner" isn't a result. Without checking generation before and after, you never know what you gained — or what's wrong.
The PanelGlow way

Done right, by people who do it every day.

  • Solar-grade soft brushes, always used with water
  • Low-mineral water and panel-safe cleaner only — no detergents
  • Early-morning or evening cleaning, never on hot glass
  • Trained, safety-equipped crew who never stand on panels
  • Electrical check and a before/after kWh report every visit
Automatic cleaning

Panels that clean themselves.

We design, supply and install two kinds of automatic cleaning — and maintain them after. Which one fits depends on the size of your array; we'll recommend one after a site visit.

Automatic sprinkler cleaning system on a Kerala rooftop: one small nozzle on the top edge of each solar panel spraying a fine fan of water down the glass
For homes & small roofs

Sprinkler cleaning system

One nozzle on the top edge of each panel and a timer controller, fed from your existing overhead tank. Your array is rinsed on schedule — no ladders, no labour.

  • Designed to your roof and panel layout
  • Timer-controlled — runs in the early morning, before generation peaks
  • Enough water pressure? We fit a solenoid valve — the timer opens it and tank pressure does the rest.
  • Panels higher than your tank, or low pressure? We fit a booster pump instead, so every nozzle gets a strong spray.
  • Filter included, to keep nozzles clear and avoid spotting
From ₹7,499 + ₹450/panel · supplied & installed with timer, filter and solenoid valve · booster pump option quoted after site visit · uses your existing tank
Robotic solar panel cleaner with a rotating soft brush moving along a long row of panels on a commercial rooftop, leaving a clean path behind it
For commercial, industrial & solar plants

Robotic cleaning system

A robot with a soft rotating brush travels along each panel row and cleans it automatically. Built for large arrays where manual cleaning is slow, costly and risky.

  • Cleans on a schedule, without crews on the roof
  • Waterless and low-water options
  • Suited to long, uniform panel rows on flat roofs and ground mounts

Annual maintenance plan (AMC)

A clean every month. A check you can trust.

In Kerala, dust, salt air and bird droppings build up every week — so your panels need cleaning every month, not twice a year. One yearly plan and we come back on schedule; you never have to remember or climb up.

  • 12 cleanings a year — one every month, including 2 deep cleans (before and after monsoon)
  • Electrical safety check every quarter — connections, earthing, inverter
  • Monthly kWh check, so a failing panel is caught early
  • A short report after every visit you can check against your KSEB bill
  • Priority booking and free re-visit if anything looks wrong

Product spotlight · Solar cleaning brush

Clean every panel from the edge of the roof.

Water flows through spray lines right at the bristles, so grit is lifted and rinsed away as you brush — not dragged across the glass. No ladders on the array, no standing on panels.

  • 18" head — easier to handle, good for homes and tight rows.
  • 24" head — covers more glass per stroke, for bigger arrays.
  • Pole length — pick the one that reaches your farthest panel from a safe spot on the roof.

A concentrate that cleans a whole array from one bottle.

Panel-safe, non-corrosive and pH-neutral — it lifts dust, bird droppings, rust marks and hard mineral deposits without the acids or harsh scrubbing that scratch glass and void panel cover. Highly concentrated, so a little goes a long way.

  • Clean cool: early morning or evening — not in peak midday sun.
  • Always dilute — never apply the concentrate straight onto the glass.
  • Store cool and dry, away from children and open flame.

Before and after: water trapped by the panel frame leaves a mud belt; with a drain clip, water drains off and the edge stays clean
Product spotlight · Water drain clips

Stop the mud belt along the bottom of your panels.

The raised frame lip traps rainwater at the lower edge. When it dries, it leaves a band of dirt and minerals across the bottom cells — shading them every single day. A drain clip breaks that water line so it runs off instead of pooling.

  • Clips on in seconds — no drilling, no tools
  • Tough ABS — strong grip, long life, weather-resistant
  • Sizes 30 / 35 / 40 mm to fit common panel frames

Good to know

Questions, answered

How often should solar panels be cleaned?

In Kerala, once a month. Dust, salt air, pollen and bird droppings build up every week, and every week of dirt costs you units. A monthly clean with a deep clean before and after monsoon keeps output near its peak — our yearly plan schedules all of it for you.

Will cleaning really increase my generation?

Usually yes. Soiling commonly costs 15–25% of output. We record your units before and after so you see the real figure, not a guess.

Is it safe for my panels and warranty?

Yes. We use soft brushes and low-mineral water, never high-pressure jets or acidic chemicals, which are the main causes of micro-scratches and warranty disputes.

Sprinkler or robotic — which automatic system is right for me?

Homes and small rooftops usually suit a sprinkler system: nozzles along each panel row on a timer. Large commercial, industrial and ground-mounted arrays usually suit a robotic cleaner that travels along the rows. We'll recommend one after a site visit.

Can I buy brushes, spikes, clips or cleaner without a service?

Yes. We sell cleaning brushes, bird spikes, water drain clips and panel cleaning solution to homeowners, and at wholesale rates to installers and dealers. Message us on WhatsApp for the rate list.

How much does panel cleaning cost?

A water wash starts at ₹50 per panel and a deep clean with our panel cleaning solution is ₹100 per panel, with a minimum visit charge of ₹600. Sheet roofs, high structures or sites without a water point may cost a little more — we confirm the exact price on WhatsApp or after a free inspection.

Which areas do you cover?

All of Kerala — from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod. We're based in Kollam. Message us your location and we'll confirm a slot.
